I'm so paranoid now

Before you get robbed while you're sleeping:

After you get robbed:

I was definitely hysterical when Hannah and I were handed our headshots. We both looked so terrible and exhausted. We could not stop laughing. This definitely put a damper on my trip, but we're all trying our best to forget about it and not dwell on it. I'm currently blogging from my bed, locked inside our booby trapped apartment. It's actually really scary because Julia just told me that when Hannah and I left the apartment last night, somebody rang our bell 10-15 minutes later and she picked up the phone and nobody said anything. So we were kind of speculating that they saw me and Hannah leave and were checking if anybody else was in the apartment. But then again, I'm super paranoid right now. And here I am dwelling on it. Tomorrow, Julia and I are going to a castle and the open-air museum and meeting up with my class to forget our troubles. Today, I was on my own all day because Hannah went to meet up with her class and Julia met her parents in Brno to get documents for her stolen items and an old phone to use. But I had a good day! First, I finished my homework in a cafe.

It's actually pretty cool being the only CIEE person around because it feels like I graduated or something and live here. I was entirely on my own for the first time. And some guy thought I was Czech again when I was walking around and asked me for directions and I gave him a very perplexed look and he was like ohhh nevermind. I decided to hike up Petrin Hill and see the mini eiffel tower. I did not go up into it because I didn't feel like paying for it and climbing up the stairs (because I just hiked up the very large and confusing hill). I spotted the embassy on my way up #merica

I also walked around the eiffel tower and did the stations of the cross that are there!

These pictures were taken with my new camera, by the way. So I hope the quality is as good as before. Look at this digital zoom!

It also has a panoramic setting and there are pretty gardens at the top of the hill!

That was fun to play with. And that guy biked into it but it looks really cool. On the way down the hill (which should probably be called a mountain), there were more pretty flowers. And I was dehydrated and super sweaty because it was 1000 degrees, but it was nice to get fresh air and just kind of explore.

Really hoping the next two weeks are worry-free!

  2. I hope you lock up your valuables when you leave and are sleeping! You should ask the cops to circle by often
