This morning, Julia and I decided to meet up with my class at the Ploskovice Chateau. However, our train was not early enough to actually tour it with my class but we did make it in time to see the caves underneath which was pretty cool. Except for the fact that I was soaking wet. Our train dropped us off at this very small stop, which actually kind of looked like somebody's house. The conductor woman kind of just stared at us as we got off the train into the rain in the middle of nowhere. But I did not realize exactly how much in the middle of nowhere we actually were until we saw a sign pointing with a picture of a castle and then another sign that said 1.5km. It certainly felt even further because it began pouring even harder and thundering. There was not another person in sight as we walked across this empty greenery towards more greenery. And I just couldn't stop laughing at the situation. It is probably a super nice walk on a nice day, but it decided to rain the hardest between the time that we got off the train and arrived at the chateau. We were muddy and soaked by the time we got there even though I had all my rain gear on. I didn't expect to have to walk so far. Sadly, I have a blister now, but it's not too bad. I think it was the wetness that did it. The situation was hysterical though. It was the passport photo all over again. Just unreal. Like it was happening to somebody else or we are being unknowingly filmed for a comedy.
Once we joined my class, we traveled a little to Zubrnice, which was super cute. We ate lunch and then went on a tour of the open air museum throughout the town.
Is this Green Lane? Legit some of the countryside could have been Pennsylvania.
The doorways were so low in this house that G's head touched!
This teensy bed was for husband AND wife. I hope they liked cuddling.
And here is a rare and authentic computer from the 15C.
And this is my professor telling us about how they used this wooden device to get the grains out. She even demonstrated. She's the best. She bought me a paper weight from the glassworks place they toured on Saturday because of what happened.
This classroom reminded me of Anne of Green Gables.
This peacock was chillin at the chateau.
And these cross-shaped tombstones were made by the people who killed the person being buried. It's a nice gesture, but you could have also just not killed them.
We went out to dinner and G and I shared some big Pork dish with vegetables. And it was really good, but I should probably start eating less meat. Also, I had really really really good creme brulee as well.
You So Funny!!! How often have I said that MY life feels like one situation comedy after another, some situations funny not always in a haha sort of way. Well, welcome to my world daughter. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Life is amusing, je to tak? Your professors sound like really good people.
ReplyDeleteAnne of Green Gables! And yeah, nicer not to kill someone than make them a nice cross.
